Same Data - Different Application Versions

There is only a single copy of your data. The choice below is for the version of JupyterHub to use to interact with it. Please choose the one as directed by your instructor.

Jupyter (current/most recent)

• jupyter2.uri.edu
• JupyterLab 4.3.5, Python 3.12.8, new as of Summer 2025
• Instructors: if you did not use URI's Jupyter before Summer 2025, you should probably use this one. If you used Jupyter prior to that, it is suggested for you to test that your existing file work in this new environment.
• This new facility is not yet working for everyone. If this doesn't work for you, please use jupyter1 below.

Jupyter (legacy)

• jupyter1.uri.edu
• Established since June 2017, kept running for backward compatibility, no longer updated. Will be discontinued Aug 2026.
• JupyterLab 3.0.16, Python 3.6.8
